Girlhub a Non Government Organization working in partnership with DM and Nike Foundation is seeking a Project Manager who is enthusiastic, energetic, reliable, hardworking, a team player, relationship builder. The role of the project manager is to effectively deliver Girlhub's radio and magazine platforms for launch in October/November 2011.She/he will facilitate the smooth running of operations overall, supporting the editorial, radio and third party teams to deliver at the set deadlines.
Key Responsibilities/deliverables:
- Accountable for day to day logistics and admin duties related to the magazine radio
- Key link between magazine editor and radio producer
- Accountable for costs and budgets, with an eye for costs saving
- Implement deadlines and ensure deadlines are met
- Design Umwangavu process/production schedule for six months of activity
- Co-ordinate meetings, events, field work for the radio and magazine
- Manage weekly editorial meetings
- Develop and update Umwangavu status doc leading up to launch
- Create activity / contact reports
- Develop and manage communications contact data base (incl. Contributors, stakeholders, interviewees, production contacts, third parties etc)
Qualifications and Skills desired:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in project management. Master's degree is an added advantage
- Work Experience Minimum 3 years work experience in a related field and 3 years in senior managerial capacity
- Languages: Must be fluent in English and Kinyarwanda
- Excellent speak English and Kinyarwanda fluently
- Background in media/communication or public relations -preferred
- Strong administrative and financial skills
- Excellent planning, reporting and production skills
- Excellent in PowerPoint, word, excel and generally computer literate
- Ability to manage other people
