Olam, an international agri-business company, is seeking Outgrower Project Coordinators and Sustainability Assistants in various locations in Africa.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting smallholder farmers for better engagement, crop production, and sustainability.
Monitoring and evaluating progress, through impact studies, data collection and analysis
Ensuring timely and quality reporting
Drafting newsletter articles on sustainability concepts
Engaging with Olam’s global teams to ensure application of Olam sustainability principles, such as the Olam Livelihood Charter and Olam Shared Values
Helping manage relationships with donors and other stakeholder relationships
The ideal candidate has:
A degree in agriculture, rural development, geography, sociology, or business
Some experience in rural projects for socio-economic development, impact evaluations, corporate social responsibility, or community development
Project management, planning, and leadership skills
Communication, public relations, and problem resolution skills
Reporting and presentation skills
Basic knowledge in accounts and cost management
Rural experience and willingness to live and work in rural settings
Language skills appropriate to the target country
The person will report to the product head and/or the regional sustainability manager.
