Palladium is seeking a Deputy Team Leader for a programme that aims to increase the capacity, accountability and inclusiveness of key democratic institutions, will promote active, engaged and informed citizens, and facilitate collective action by multiple stakeholders that promote public interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations of the programme, including the practical implementation of the work plan, supervising the key component leads, managing local coordinators, trouble-shooting issues, and supporting the match between operational modalities, budget/financial realities, and technical plans.
- Coordinate regularly with the Team Leader as well as with Palladium?s Headquarters and represent the organization at relevant events and meetings with industry, government officials and the donor community.
Person Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in international development, with at least 3 years' experience based in the field.
- Strategy, planning and delivery of governance strengthening/accountability programmes in the East African Region, including experience of working at the local government level
- Fluent Kiswahili and English essential
- Field experience in Africa, preferably Eastern or Southern Africa
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative and flexible programmes,
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills;
- Master's degree in a relevant field preferred but not essential.
