Tearfund is a Christian Relief and Development organisation and has been working and supporting work in Rwanda for many years. We would like to recruit a highly capable and enthusiastic Christian individual to work as the In Country Coordinator as part of Tearfund’s International Citizenship Service Programme.
The International Citizenship Service (ICS) is a global volunteering programme for young people aged between 18 - 25 from the UK and the host country, volunteering together for 10 weeks. The programme provides an exciting opportunity for young adults from the UK and Rwanda to learn from each other about Rwandan development needs, processes and impact, and to explore what it means to be both a global and local citizen.
The post holder should ideally have a background in community development and have worked with volunteers. They should have proven experience in effectively co-ordinating projects, able to work without direct supervision and have financial, project cycle management skills.
The post will require travel around Rwanda and so the post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable to programme needs both planned and as they arise.
This is a key role within the Tearfund ICS programme and so it is a requirement for this role with Tearfund that the post holder agrees with and can sign Tearfund’s statement of faith. This can be viewed on line herehttp://www.tearfund.org/en/about_you/jobs/tearfund_statement_of_faith/ or in hard copy by request.
As this post is working with volunteers from the UK and Rwanda it is a key requirement that the post holder has excellent written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda.
Please note: Applicants must have the right to live and work in Rwanda.
Salary: 20,225 USD per annum
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Potential interview date: 26 August 2013
