Lutheran World Relief (LWR) is accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates specializing in a range of technical areas relevant to projects with a focus on climate change mitigation. Lutheran World Relief seeks highly qualified candidates specializing in the following technical areas: • Climate change mitigation and adaptation • Carbon sequestration • Reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions • Clean energy • Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) • Natural resource management • Capacity building • Operations Management - Accounting , HR and Logistics • Project Management • Monitoring and evaluation
Candidates must fulfill the following qualifications: • Master's degree in a related field; • At least 8 years of technically relevant experience; • Prior experience working on climate change mitigation or adaption projects funded by the German government’s Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the British government’s Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC), USAID or by other major donors; • Experience/familiarity with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAS) (preferred but not required); • Professional, relevant experience in Asia is preferred; • Fluency in English; • Experience working with national governments is highly desirable.
