The Project Studies team is responsible for the delivery of order of magnitude and pre-feasibility studies across the RTCM group. The Coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) is core infrastructure in Mozambique and will have dedicated management who will be supported by full time mechanical, electrical and process engineers.
Reporting to the Principal Advisor Engineering and Processing, the primary purpose of the Process Engineer is to support the CHPP Process Advisor and Study Team Managers to complete process options analysis and preliminary design of the CHPP. The role will be the primary interface between the CHPP designer, EPCM organization, RTCM and the Owners team for all process issues.
We are seeking interest from experienced engineers for future opportunties working in our study team.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Ensure constraints & operational restrictions are incorporated into designs, including improvements and lessons learnt from previous projects and existing operations in relation to mechanical/process systems.
- Ensure that new process systems & technologies are critically evaluated and reviewed, optimized and integrated with other RTCM infrastructure
- Coordinate across RTCM and the project to ensure that any process work complies at a minimum with the relevant Rio Tinto, African and Mozambique standards
- Provide design input (specification) and participate in design reviews, Risk Assessments, HAZOPS, HAZIDS and RAMBO's for the CHPP
- Work closely with the project delivery and operational readiness teams to develop appropriate plans at handover to ensure that the CHPP can be safely designed and operated.

A successful candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering
