To characterize and catalogue elite breeding lines, true-to-type pre-breeding lines with value added traits, and newly released varieties. Multiply the purified seed of these lines/varieties for sharing with NARES and ARI.
Major accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Responsible for phenotypic characterization of elite breeding lines and homogenous pre-breeding lines in collaboration with PBGB teams to support NARES and ARI
• Responsible for maintenance and multiplication of seed of promising breeding lines possessing value added traits for sharing with the CARDI, Cambodia and other NARES
• To support Cambodian program to accelerate breeding for submergence tolerance and superior grain quality
• To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualification requirements
• BSc Agriculture (Plant Breeding/Agronomy/Crop Production/Genetics)
• Experience in managing field trials/seed multiplication plots
• Good knowledge in plant breeding, field trialing, seed multiplication, database management
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
