| Role Summary: The Strategic Information Team makes sense of data and information for decision-making to ensure evidence-based corporate and grant management, and to demonstrate the progress of results and impact of the Global Fund.
The Corporate Performance Management framework of the Global Fund assesses organisational performance across four dimensions of: operational performance within the Secretariat; performance of the Global Fund-supported programs in countries; effects of these programs on country health systems; and most importantly, impact on the three diseases. The aim of the framework is to support the continuous improvement of organisational performance and to contribute to the Global Fund’s mission of fighting the three diseases around the world.
The Project Officer, Strategic Information, works within the Strategic Information Team of the PIE Unit, collaborating closely with teams from across the Secretariat.
He/she is a dynamic individual who will contribute to:
1. reviewing the Corporate Performance Management framework of the Global Fund to ensure it aligns with demands of the new Strategy and the Consolidated Transformation Plan;
2. routine monitoring, analysis and reporting of strategic information and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to grant management, the Executive Management Team (EMT) and its relevant committees;
3. Analyses to support enhancement of use of strategic information and results for corporate reporting and grant management. |
| Responsibilities: Working closely with various teams in the Secretariat, the project Officer, Strategic Information, will:
• Conduct analyses to inform enhancement of the Strategic Investments and grant managements and reviews;
• Develop and maintain business information hubs for various users;
• Maintain the corporate slide depository and coordinate updating core slide sets;
• Contribute to the analysis of performance against the Key Performance Indicators on a routine basis and definition and monitoring of corrective actions, aimed at improving corporate performance towards impact;
• Contribute to the preparation of quarterly reports on corporate performance to the Executive Management Team (EMT), and mid-year and year-end reports to the Boards of the Global Fund and relevant committees;
• Work as part of the team to analyse the performance of Global Fund grants and across the portfolio for effective management;
• Work as part of a team to analyse core Global Fund data derived from Global Fund proposals, grants and reported results, as well as a variety of external data sources;
• Support the integration of KPIs in the ‘day to day’ operations and management of the Global Fund. |
| Qualifications: Essential:
• University degree in Public Health, Statistics, Economics, Management, Business Administration or other relevant discipline

| Experience: Essential:
• 2-3 years of progressive professional experience
• Experience in conducting data analyses and using evidence to influence decision making.
Desirable:
• Experience in corporate performance management
• Experience in information management
• Familiarity with Performance Based Funding and the Global Fund Business Model. |
| Competencies: Languages:
An excellent knowledge of English and preferably a good working knowledge of French or one of the following: Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish. Knowledge of other languages an asset.
