An MD, AMO or Degree in nursing and midwifery.
Candidates with Public Health and any other relevant qualifications will be considered
Solid programmatic and technical expertise in reproductive health programs
At least five years experience in managing health programs at regional or national level including planning, designing, budgeting, supervising, evaluating and documenting results.
Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, inspiring team work and motivating staff, consultants and partners to achieve results.
Demonstrated experience maintaining donor and partner relations, ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
Excellent written and oral English and Kiswahili skills
Demonstrated self- management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure adaptability)
Willingness to live in the specified regions and travel up to 60% time.
Overview:
Jhpiego Corporation - an affiliate of the Johns Hopkins University - together with Plan International and Africare with CIDA (Canada) funding is implementing the Wazazi na Mwana program. The Wazazi na Mwana program is collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MoHSW) to deliver critical, evidence based health interventions to reduce Maternal and New born morbidity and mortality contributing to the achievement of the national targets for Millennium Development goals (MDGs) Four and Five.
To accomplish this goal, Wazazi na Mwana needs to recruit self motivated individuals for positions in 4 districts of 2 regions in Tanzania. The successful candidates will be based in the districts and will be responsible for the smooth and timely completion of Wazazi na Mwana project in those districts. A competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidates and will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and Requirements:
FOR ALL POSITIONS - Tanzanian nationals who have previous experience working with an international organization are preferred.
