Post: Industry & Market Analyst
Reports To: Manager Economic Regulation
Key Result Areas:
Develop and maintain up to date operational reporting framework for all licensed service providers including voice, data, post, courier, broadcast and multimedia service providers.
Manage the design, content and access to the sector monitoring data bank
Prepare and disseminate quarterly and annual market performance reports covering all subsectors within the Commission’s jurisdiction
Conduct regular post/telecom/broadcast market performance reviews in view of advising the Commission on requisite post and ex ante regulatory interventions in the post, telecom and broadcast subsectors
Develop policy advisory papers on economic and commercial matters as may be mandated by the Commission
Provide national and international coordination and benchmarking at implementation level in the area ICT measurement.
Initiate and develop specialized tools required for the efficient competition and economic monitoring in line with the Commission’s mandate.
Respond to telecommunications market data/statistics requests from government agencies, academia, development partners among others effectively in line with international best practices and the Communications Act.

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics or related
A post-graduate qualification is an advantage;
Proficiency in the use of statistical analysis packages.
The candidate should demonstrate good understanding of utility regulation principles and regulatory policy development.
Experience:
At least three (3) years experience in a related field
Relevant experience in data management, econometric modeling, and competition assessment is an added advantage.
Good written and verbal communication, strong inter-personal skills and capacity to work as a team
