The International AIDS Society (IAS) is the world’s membership society for individuals working professionally in HIV, bringing together individuals and organizations from around the world to address current issues in HIV basic, clinical and prevention science. The IAS has over 15,000 members from 193 countries, and is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The IAS is the custodian of the world’s premier gathering on HIV/AIDS, the International AIDS Conference. It also organizes the IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention that focuses on the biomedical aspects of HIV/AIDS. Those conferences alternately take place every two years. In addition, the IAS has initiated several projects to further support the professional development of key stakeholders coming from resource-limited countries and to leverage knowledge, experience and influence of its members to advocate for the policy changes and political commitments necessary to end the AIDS epidemic. The IAS is committed as well to provide assistance to regional AIDS societies/networks and conferences. The IAS is seeking a Congress & Exhibition (C&E) Assistant to coordinate several logistics projects for the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) which will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Centre from 22-27 July. The position starts on 01 March 2012 until 31 August 2012 (6 months) and will report to the Congress & Exhibition Manager.
