Chemonics seeks a chief of party to manage the upcoming USAID-funded Kenya Feed the Future Innovation Engine project, an initiative designed to foster and bring to scale innovative private-sector solutions to poverty and food insecurity. The program will identify, support, and scale up cutting-edge local innovations related to agricultural value chains, nutrition, and poverty. We are looking for individuals with a passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and private-sector solutions to intractable problems. Responsibilities include: * Provide overall project leadership, management, and technical direction
Promote outreach, communication, and networking with Kenyan innovators
Supervise technical and administrative staff
Serve as the primary liaison with USAID and international and regional partners
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as business administration or economics
Minimum eight years of experience managing complex private-sector programs
Experience as a chief of party on a USAID project preferred; exceptional candidates without USAID experience will be considered
Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to large public audiences
Ability to network effectively with diverse partners
Personal experience in entrepreneurship, venture capital, or private-sector innovation/incubation a plus
Strong understanding of agriculture, value chains, agribusiness, or nutrition
Experience working in East Africa a plus, in Kenya preferred
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluent English
