Role of the job:
To support the Procurement function and the Supply Chain Management Specialist in the implementation of the Procurement Supplies Management (PSM) Plans.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the Finance manager in the implementation of the PSM Plans
2. Assist the Supply Chain Management Specialist in the preparation of documentation of selection, qualification procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals and health products.
3. Maintain and safeguard documents and files related to procurement and supply management activities.
4. Monitor the distribution and ensure timely availability of pharmaceuticals and health products to all the SRs and the Private Not for Profit (PNFP) facilities.
5. Make field visits to support and validate PSM related reporting from SRs and PNFP facilities
6. Make field visits to train and mentor SR and facility staff on PSM procedures for handling of pharmaceutical and health products
Enter and update data as required in the Price & Quality Reporting (PQR) system.
7. Support the Finance manager to assess the needs and prepare requirements, specifications as required for pharmaceuticals and health products
8. To ensure that information on the supplies of pharmaceuticals and health products to SRs and PNFP facilities under the grant is collected and reported appropriately
9. Compile and prepare PSM related reports for the Progress Update / Disbursement Request (PU/DR)

Essential requirements:
• A graduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, or Procurement and Logistics, or Purchasing and Supplies or related qualification
• At least two years experience in operations related to supply chain management of health and / or pharmaceutical products
• Familiarity with the operations of the health sector in Uganda
• Experience in the usage of computers and standard office software packages and knowledge of information management systems
• Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable qualities:
• Familiarity with the operations of the Ministry of Health.
• Knowledge of the processes of Global Fund and/or other performance based funding mechanism.
Salary: - USD/month
