Boone, NC - Samaritan’s Purse’s World Medical Mission is seeking a Medical Engineering Technician to provide in-house and field technical biomedical service and support to enhance the ministry of medical mission facilities and projects around the world.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 1. Screen, repair, calibrate and install Medical Imaging and Bio-Medical equipment. 2. Coordinate the evaluation of equipment offered by donors for acceptability and coordinate shipping, or pick-up if needed. 3. Travel to mission hospitals and medical clinics throughout the developing world in order to provide technical support to field surgical teams deployed by World Medical Mission. 4. Assist in proper record keeping, including inventory, gift-in-kind pricing, preparing and cataloging technical documentation on medical equipment, and the status on all projects.
Qualified candidates should be proficient in the maintenance, repair and installation of medical equipment, including 10 years of experience with X-ray and operating room biomedical support. Experience using Autocad software is a plus.
Position requires international travel of up to 75 days per year.
