Intermón Oxfam is seeking to fill the Human Resources (HR) Manager position in relation to the Drought Emergency Response. The selected person will hierarchically and functionally dependent on the Emergency Manager and technical support from the HR responsible in Intermón Oxfam Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Propose an HR strategy, HR tools and procedures according the country needs.
- Assure that the HR policies, procedures and tools are applied and understand by all staff in the mission.
- Line manager of an HR assistant and functional management for the adminfin officers in the bases regarding HR.
- Assist the Emergency Manager and the managers in the management and development of the staff.
- In cooperation with the managers, to participate in the recruitment and briefing of the staff joining the organisation.
- Act as a focal point in the application of the evaluation emergency tool. -Contribute to the internal communication procedures in order to guarantee the information flow.
- To regularly report with the HR responsible in Head Quarters.
- To guarantee all legal procedures are according to the country law.
- To guarantee the tax payments (social security, local taxes etc#)
- To participate in the HR meetings with the other affiliates in the country.
- To manage all incident related to labour relations with the local staff.
- To manage the conflicts between the staff and the organisation and propose solutions.
- To assist the emergency manager in the inappropriate behaviours of the staff according to the IO Code of Conduct.
Experience and Skills
- 2 years professional experience in similar positions.
- Experience in the HR management with staff in the field.
- Languages: English mandatory.
- IT: word, excel and powerpoint
- Studies related with Labours Relations, Human Resources, Economy or Business Administration
- Availability to regular visits in the field.
- Experience in the field with other organisations in emergencies.
- Experience in team management.
- Knowledge of developing countries (travelling, education abroad...)
- Knowledge of Amharic and Somali languages.
Working Conditions
- Contract until 30/04/2012
- Salary and benefits according to the IO salary scale in the country
- Place of work : Addis Ababa. Some travel to the field are required
