Reports To: Health, Nutrition & BCC Advisor Food for the Hungry is an International Christian-based Non-Governmental Organization operating in over 60 countries around the world. Currently Food for the Hungry is implementing health and nutrition, food security and education programs in Upper Nile, Jonglei and Northern Bahr El Ghazal States in the Republic of South Sudan. SUMMARY The WEG Coordinator will be responsible for design, implementation and monitoring of Women Empowerment Group program in FH South Sudan. The WEG Coordinator will also develop capacity building strategies for FH Sudan and its partners on matters of Women Empowerment, assist in liaison with relevant partners and stakeholders, and participate in assessments, project design and implementing Gender and development initiatives. As FH staff WEG Coordinator is expected to implement the vision, mission, and values of FH. The State WEG Coordinator is directly accountable to the Area Program Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1.Project Management - 30% o Lead and participate in planning and coordinating implementation of Women Empowerment components of SSHiNE Program.
o Provide day to day oversight to WEG facilitators, enabling them plan and achieve their implementation targets. o Provide continuous operational support from the program office to WEG facilitators in implementation of WEG activities. o Ensure WEG initiatives are well harmonized and integrated in other SSHiNE program initiatives with the aim of attaining the overall SSHiNE program goal o Ensure WEG programs are addressing social, mental, physical and spiritual needs of beneficiaries.
2 . Monitoring and Evaluation - 20 % • Ensure proper Monitoring and Evaluation tools pertaining to WEG program are in place and use.
• Participate in M&E activities for WEG program such as assessments, baseline surveys, gender analysis & needs assessments, maintenance of Healthy Management Information Systems, design of project workplans and M&E tools and performance measurement plans. • Participates in bi-monthly management and monitoring meetings, review of WEG facilitators activity reports, preparation of progress reports, and Periodic Program reviews .
- Staff Development, training and management - 30 %
• In consultation with the Human Resource Department and Area Program Officer, participate in sourcing, deployment and performance management of staff working in WEG component of SSHiNE Program. • Promote cross functional teamwork through day to day management, training and capacity building and promote well being and personal development of WEG facilitators. 5. Coordination and representation - 20% • Represent FH South Sudan in partners and Government forums related to Women Empowerment and Gender & Development • Ensure FH South Sudan’s Women Empowerment initiatives are registered and well coordinated with the relevant government and non government actors.
• Monitor the social, economic, political, religious and environmental aspects related to Women Empowerment; report and recommend action on such aspects.

Knowledge and experience working with other cultures. Computer skills - Proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point Good organizational and team management skills Good working knowledge of M&E systems Technical knowledge about WEG, planning lesson plans, agriculture and group work cooordination. Self starter, innovator, able to work independently with creativity Good health, able to work in remote resource contrained settings.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• WEG Coordinator must possess Bachelors Degree in Agricultue/holticulture or Social studies.
• with NGO • 2 years work experience in a similar role in government or Non - Governmental Organization with bias in gender development projects. • 3 years experience of Community Capacity Building/Development • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation procedures and processes including report writing
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Direct supervision of 10 WEG facilitators. • Indirect staff: 12 staff plus Community volunteers.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• High degree of fluency in both written and spoken English • Fluency in spoken Arabic desirable.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning foreign languages.
