KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Carry out all mineral resource estimates of the various ABG mine and deposits using internationally accepted methodology and practices
• Assist Mine sites with accurately maintaining Resource and Grade Control Block Models.
• Assist Mine Sites with accurate reporting of Monthly, quarterly and yearly Mine-to Mill Reconciliation figures
• Interact and participate with the Mining, Process and Project Departments, to ensure sustained Resource development for projects and existing mine sites.
• Liaising with the exploration group and mine site geological departments regarding Exploration and Development drilling planning and interpretations.
• Supervise and interpret the geotechnical and geological logging of the drilling programmes on the projects.
• Develop, maintain, and reconcile the project Block Models.
• Liaise and interact with External Contractors and Consultants
• Ongoing Implementation of Training systems for Tanzanian Professional personnel especially the Development Geologists.
• Other duties that may be assigned by the Corporate Manager Geology to fulfil the overall business objective
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology
Experience Requirements:
• A minimum 5 + years Mining and Exploration experience, preferably both in Underground and Open Cut Mining and in multi-element deposits.
• Experience in the use of Datamine and or Vulcan or other mining software packages. Excellent knowledge in the use of software packages for Geological Block Modeling, Ore Reserve Evaluations, Geostatistical Analysis, Cost Analysis and Exploration Budget Preparation.
• Working experience in Africa or a developing country.
• Competency accreditation for purposes of Mineral Resource and Ore Reserves reporting as per the internationally accepted reporting practices such JORC code, NI 43-101, SAMREC etc.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken English. Demonstrate high level of communication with the Geology Teams on the Tanzanian sites and across other departments.
• Highly motivated, resourceful, leads by example and maintains high standard of work.
• Commitment to continuously improve current protocols.
