The overall aim of the LD program is a high performing and high trust organization built on Christ’s values and vision of leadership that enables us to work appropriately with our staff to develop and empower them. By building the key skills of trust, team building, communication, people management and cross-cultural, inter-faith understanding / intelligence, we will improve the leadership team’s skills so they better engage with personnel and the communities. - We are facing multiple and frequent changes in our region. The context is changing rapidly and as a consequence the organization is always in transition. There is clear need to support leadership in improving the leadership capacity to manage significant changes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To lead the MEER Leadership development program, with a strong emphasis on building a pipe line of new leaders and working with leadership teams in inter-faith and cross-cultural contexts. To guide and support the regional leaders in planning and executing organizational change initiatives and to support National Offices in planning and executing strategically important organizational changes. Leadership Development (50%) Integration. Integrate the leadership development activities and program with other P&C activities and initiatives (performance management, capacity building, succession planning, workforce planning, staff care) by closing working with other regional P&C business partners and P&C regional director (Project) Management. Manage the Leadership Development program; budgeting, resourcing, work plan, reporting. The current Leadership Program includes the following components: Leader and Self, Leader and Team, Leader and Peers, Leader and Next (Generation) Design, develop and facilitate. Work (eventually with external providers) on workshops, training that are innovative, creative, (with latest research in the field of cross-cultural and emotional intelligence). Christian Leadership. Manage a good balance between business proven leadership practices and Christian, biblical concepts of leadership. Sustainability and Partnership. Build the current LD program (incl. redesign and better integration of the different elements) and bringing it to a next stage by working with external providers and creating awareness/buy in from support offices as well as national offices (to create a more solid funding base) Next Generation of Leaders. Develop and implement a process that will identify and capacity build the next generation of leaders at the national offices and regional office.
Change Management (50%) Advise leaders in designing and implementing regional change initiatives (and applying partnership policies, principles and standards) Advise leaders on specific national level change initiatives – eg organizational re-design, business (/process) improvement, culture change, Lead efforts to build capacity (leadership and P&C community) to manage significant change (with a solid focus on the people aspects of change). Lead or support management of specific projects introduction of new technologies/projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED: Home Country International Position located in or near MEER region College degree or the equivalent knowledge acquired in Human Resources A seasoned professional in HR with a proven background in training and development with a specific focus on leadership development and change Experience in or knowledge of working (training) with cross-cultural team and trust building Project management experience Strong communciation and facilitation skills Ability to travel into complex settings Travel up to 30% per year Ability to accept feedback from other Active listening skills Executive presence and relationship building Must be able to work effectively with F&D and P&C teams in MEER Strong Christian background that can embrace other faith groups and intra-faith differences within the Christian Church Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work without close supervision, requiring the ability to take initiative, demonstrate good judgement and problem solving
PREFERRED: Certified in different assessment tools which could include: MBTI
