3. Project Manager-OCR Pamoja (1 position)
Duty Station: Amuru district with regular travel to Nwoya, Pader and Amudat districts.
Background:
The Dutch Consortium for Rehabilitation (OCR), comprised of CARE Netherlands. Healthnet TPO, Save the Children Netherlands and ZOA Refugee Care, has received funds from the Dutch Government through the Core Funding System II (MFS II) for a five year Program called Pamoja. This Program will be implemented in conflict affected countries including Uganda (Northern and Eastern regions] Save the Children (lead Organisation for the Consortium) and ZOA Uganda will implement this Program through Livelihoods & Food security. Health & Nutrition and Education interventions.
The job holder will work under the direct control and supervision of the DCR Consortium Manager.
Job Purpose:
The job holder will take responsibility for overall planning, implementation and management of Save the Children led DCR pamoja project components of Basic services, livelihoods, community governance and sectoral systems strengthening in North and Eastern region The incumbent will also take lead in coordination with partners, planning, implementation and monitoring of DCR Pamoja project activities as well as compilation of the plans, budget and project reports for the targeted regions The roles will also include identifying partners, providing leadership to partners and the project teams in the region
Job requirement
Academic back ground, Experience & Person Specifications;
• A minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in social sciences, development studies social work and social administration and accrued working experience in a related position.
• At least 5 years progressive experience m programme development and management with an INGO .
• Relevant experience supervising community based social development projects and with International NGOs particularly those addressing basic services, Livelihoods, food security and community development and those applying a partnership approach is desirable
• Thorough understanding of child rights issues, sectoral policies, national poverty alleviation strategies as well as current national and international trends in to global poverty and development.
• Strong financial, planning and budget management skills and experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Strong documentation, reporting, facilitation and presentation skills
