Reporting hierarchically to the Field Manager and functionally to the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Officer will be in charge of the implementation, analyse, planning, and evaluation of the Logistics activities for the project.
General:
- Participation to the preparation, planning and response to emergencies, together with the team.
- Planning, Implementation, follow up and evaluation of the project's logistical activities.
- Management of the Logistics team at project level.
- Follow up the logistical budgets for the project.
- To make monthly reports and other necessary reports on the development of logistical activities of the project.
- Briefings to newly incorporated staff for all technical matters related to the daily routine of the project: telecommunications, the purchase scheme, how to use vehicles, etc.
- Implementing the necessary means in order to ensure security/safety of the teams, structures and equipments
Logistics:
- Management of the national logistics team: recruitment, setting objectives, coaching, evaluation
- Implementation of the project's security plan according to the security country guidelines and under the supervision of the Field Manager. Implementation and Management of:
- Supply Chain at Project level
- Equipment follow up, maintenance, safety
- Vehicle fleet (maintenance, movements plans, safety..)
- Stocks and storage (inventories, safety, consumption calculation)
- Communication means (Radios, satellite, phones..) : installation, maintenance, safety and security in the use
- Any activity related with maintenance and safety of structures
- In charge of the IT equipment maintenance.
- Organisation of Distributions in project activities
Experience and Skills
- 1 year minimum professional experience in the field as Logistician with an International Organisation. At least one experience in an emergency context, and in an insecure context.
- Experience in security management.
- Experience of team Management.
- English fluent (spoken and written).
- IT: knowledge at user's level.
- Knowledge of supply software will be a plus.
- Skills in at least 2 of the following sectors: supply/mechanics/electricity/construction
- Logistics studies at BIOFORCE will be a plus.
Working Conditions
- Contract of employment: until 30/04/2012
- Salary: According to the Intermón Oxfam's country salary scale + per diem
- Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance and children benefit.
- Holidays: 27 working days per year 2011
- R & R: 5 working days each 10 weeks + allowance
