The Health and Nutrition coordinator will work with the Health and Nutrition Programme Manager to ensure that the primary health care, basic nutrition and hygiene related needs of the targeted population within the IDP and host communities in southern and western Darfur are met. The role will include responsibility for implementing curative and preventative health and nutritional care in established health care facilities, nutrition centres, camps and villages.
The coordinator will be expected to strengthen the programmes monitoring and reporting systems, train, advise and guide field based staff in health, nutrition and public health. As well as planning, coordinate and conduct national, partner and MOH staff training and development. They will also be expected to liaise with the local Ministry of Health and other NGOs and UN agencies.
The programme needs a strong health professional with good technical skills together with excellent organisational, planning and communication skills. They must also have the ability to work well under pressure in a potentially unstable security environment.
