The appointee should be in possession of a Grade 12 or equivalent and a relevant culinary qualification, along with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Chef. The ability to demonstrate basic financial skills and to calculate cost and kitchen finances will be key, as well as sound knowledge of kitchen procedures and training requirements. We are seeking an assertive individual with a professional approach and appearance who would be willing to work extended hours when required.
Proficiency in MS Office, own transport and a driver's licence are essential. Candidates must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical
examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
Duties and responsibilities include: ● Supervising food preparation ● Ensuring that quality and quantity outputs are achieved through the utilisation of resources ● Maintaining and controlling costs and eliminating waste of resources ● Analysing purchase processes ● Optimally applying food preparation technological systems ● Adhering to all safety, health and hygiene legislation ● Supervising, coaching and training all kitchen staff.
