Evaluation of restless development Tanzania’s youth peer-to-peer education and volunteering programme
Restless Development is the global leader in youth-led development - demonstrating that young people can and must play a leading role at all levels of development. Capitalising on several years of significant expansion, a new 5-year National Strategic Framework, and a successful global rebrand process, Restless Development (Tanzania) is prepared to further increase its impact, scale and recognition in Tanzania.
In Tanzania our main focus is the delivery of rights-based youth development initiatives in rural and urban communities. We do this through our Urban and Rural programmes using peer-to-peer educators and youth volunteers, as we want to see young people at the forefront of change and development in Tanzania.
We’ve already established an impressive track record in delivery of grassroots sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRH&R) programmes. We’re now building on this foundation by focusing on two other key areas: livelihoods and employment and youth participation in policy and development processes.
The evaluation will identify, review and assess the impact and achievements of both Urban and Rural Programmes from October 2008 to September 2010. It will also provide recommendations for improvements to inform the new Restless Development Tanzania Strategy (2011-15).
