The Employer is a Group whose purpose is to manage a portfolio of FMCG companies operating in East African region initially, and looking to expand into other areas of
Formulate and execute the Group’s overall financing strategy.
· Ensure that the annual consolidated accounts of the Group and Group company accounts are prepared in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
· Provide analytical and strategic support to the evaluation of new acquisitions, including analysing financial impact on the Group, evaluating synergies and advising on transaction structuring
· Ensure that both the Company and the Group companies have MIS/ERP systems, templates and performance measures sufficient to provide timely and accurate management accounts and to allow the business to accurately monitor performance on a continual basis.
· Drive the annual budgeting process for the Group and oversee annual budgeting for each Group Company
· Control the overall Group’s operating expenses and the capital expenditure programme to ensure adherence to budget limits and relevant authorisations.
· Institutionalize a culture of rigorous financial analysis for the purpose of supporting major business decisions.
· Take a leadership role in financing and managing relationships with financial institutions
· Keep the Board of Directors informed of all matters relating to of the business’s performance on key financial metrics.
· Work with internal and external auditors
· Take a leadership role in the structuring and tax efficiency planning of the Group
Must have attained a Masters in Business of any related field.
· 10+ years’ experience in senior finance / accounting positions, ideally as CFO / financial controller of a group structure comprised of similar sized businesses.
· Experience of implementing and using advanced management information / ERP systems and producing detailed KPI reporting for stakeholders).
· Experience of managing complex supply chains, a diverse distribution network and optimising inventory levels.
· Emerging market and especially East African experience would be an advantage.
