Chemonics seeks an operations associate for our East and Southern Africa Regional Business Unit. The operations team’s objective is to support the East and Southern Africa RBU in the home and field offices to facilitate the success of our projects in the region. The East and Southern Africa region’s portfolio includes twelve projects spanning a wide range of technical sectors. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct regional projects’ operational processes, including recruitment, regional budgeting, senior vice president backstopping, as well as field-office operations including streamlining processes, capacity building, compliance issues, facilities, and finance
- Assist in management of field communications and complete sub-tasks of required management tools to effectively address the unified, strategic approach
- Address needs related to the establishment and maintenance of corporate support systems, as well as internal operational issues
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required; master's degree preferred
- Minimum one year of relevant work experience required
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills and ability to multitask on a fast-moving team
- Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of current industry trends and resources, and USAID operations
- Ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision on work progress, and make significant contribution to end results
- Experience in Africa preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Proficiency in French or Portuguese preferred
