Location:Kigoma with field travel up to 50% of the time
Contract Duration:
One (1) year, with a possibility of renewal depending on the availability of funds
Overall Job Function:
To provide technical support to clinical staffing multidisciplinary family-focused HIV / AIDS care and treatment at ICAP supported facilities in Kigoma. Extensive travel is expected in all the districts in KigomaRegion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct technical assistance to health care facilities supported by lCAP such as site development, training staff in the clinical management of individuals, with HIV / AIDS, clinical mentoring, patient flow analysis, improvement of adherence support systems, improvement of referral systems, etc.
Assist health care providers at designated points of service in case finding and strengthening entry points in order to increase the number of referrals to the ARV units, from PMTCT, VCT and OPD and IPDand outreach services.
Implement creatively efforts to support improved pediatric AIDS services, identification and support. Work closely with Pediatrics and PMTCT Advisors to implement programs.
Implement adherence strategies in health facilities and linked to PLHIV groups closely with the Adherence Officer/Advisor
Facilitate integration between TB and HIV services and infection control within CTC
Ensure that ICAP-supported clinical care activities at multiple delivery sites conform to the Tanzanian national guidelines.
Develop with other Advisors and Director of Program materials related to HIV / AIDS care and treatment, including clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms and other necessary tools.
Coordinate implementation of clinical HIV / AIDS support with the ICAP-Clinical Unit in NY
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
Preferred Qualifications:
The candidate must hold MD degree from a recognized medical institution
Master’s degree in Public Health related discipline is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years experience in working in HIV care and treatment
The candidate must have good clinical experience in care and treatment of HIV / AIDS
Experience working in collaboration with local government partners and NGOs.
Excellent team orientation, openness, responsiveness and conflict management skills
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and management skills
