As a member of a consortium implementing the USAID-funded Further Advancing the Blue Revolution Initiative (FABRI), TCG International (TCGI) is seeking candidates for Africa Regional Manager as a full-time member of the core team based in Bethesda, Maryland.

About FABRI:
FABRI is a USAID-funded water project operating in the Middle East and Africa. FABRI works closely with USAID missions and governments across the region, actively pursuing co-investments from the private sector, reaching out to like-minded foundations, and partnering with regional institutions to address some of the world’s most challenging water issues. In Africa, FABRI is working closely with two regional associations, the African Water Association (AfWA) and the African Ministers Counsel on Water (AMCOW), to carry out programs to improve access to better drinking water and sanitation
The Position:
Based in the FABRI Home Office in Bethesda, Maryland, and reporting to the Chief of Party (COP), the Africa Regional Manager will serve as key part of the FABRI team and be responsible for; planning, management and oversight of FABRI’s Africa component – including necessary monitoring and evaluation. He/she will represent the Africa component of the project to the USAID Africa Bureau, other donors and stakeholders, and in international, regional and national meetings. He/she will ensure USAID contract compliance, consistency with policies and procedures, and supervision of other administrative staff as may be assigned, including project associates. He/she will work closely with the other members of FABRI’s home office staff in carrying out the work. The position is critical to the smooth operation of a high profile project that has a complex web of subcontractor partners, regional entities, and varied contributors. Those applying should be prepared to travel on occasion to the Africa region.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Manage the implementation of the FABRI Africa component.
· Support the COP in annual work planning, quarterly progress reporting, and annual program monitoring and evaluation efforts
· Participate in activities related to the Africa component, contributing to the preparation of scopes of work, and terms of reference, reporting, and monitoring
· Represent FABRI at Africa-related meetings with international associations and donors in Africa and other locations, particularly AMCOW and AfWA, and with USAID regional offices and missions
· Collaborate with and support FABRI stakeholders involved in implementation of the Africa component, including the Africa Small Grants Program
· Act as lead point of contact with AfWA and AMCOW
· Contribute to conceptualizing new or re-focused activities and interventions for USAID; developing strategies, guidelines, and action papers; presentations, and; technical reports and interventions in the two primary technical issues of non-revenue water and sanitation and others as needed.
Qualifications:
· MA or comparable graduate degree in water-related field, technical or managerial
· At least 15 years administrative experience on USAID or other international donor-funded technical assistance projects
· Able to communicate effectively and function culturally with all levels of staff, vendors, and public; highly sociable, team player
· Strong planning and organizational skills
· Prior program management, implementation, and supervisory experience preferred
· Regional experience in Africa preferred
