The office in Juba, South Sudan is the centre for the programmes in South Sudan. The sub offices are in Unity State: Bentiu with new base opening in Leer in new year, Northern Bar el Ghazel: Aweil with new satellite base in Nyamlell opening in the new year. An additional project will be closing in Upper Nile in December 2011. We have additional programs in Central Equitoria that are run out of the Juba office with frequent travel to Yei. Currently the South Sudan office runs nine grants with approximately 100 staff and has a projected income of £2.3m for the 2010/11 financial year.
The Operations Coordinator will coordinate the Security, Logistics, Human Resources and general coordination functions of Malaria Consortium in South Sudan and ensure full operational support is provided to the programmes implemented by the organisation in the country.
The Operations Coordinator is a member of the Country Management Team and will contribute directly to achieve the programme’s objectives. Ops Co reports to the Country Director and will cover for the CD and take on responsibilities in her absence.
The successful candidate will need : • At least three years operational management experience • Experience with international NGO, with focus on logistics and security management • Experience of working in insecure locations • Understanding of procurement procedures • Financial, budgetary and excel skills • Experience of working in The Sudan’s (North / South) • Conversant with Microsoft systems and packages (Windows, Office, Outlook) • Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English
