KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Managing implementation of all Site Occupational Health Programs.
- Overseeing the management of the Mine Site Health facility.
- Managing the development and implementation of site specific, and health and hygiene management systems and processes consistent with company policy.
- Carrying out inspections of the workplace and reporting and/or correcting unsafe/unhygienic conditions.
- Ensuring there is a means of identifying hazards and of conducting risk assessments to ensure protection of employees.
- Periodical review of the major hazards identified and risks assessed including occupational hygiene measurements, to determine whether further measures are required to manage the risk.
- Consulting with legislative bodies, assist National advisory bodies, the Mine health and safety committee and interested local parties on the periodical review of identified hazards and risks assessed.
- Advising line managers on best OH practice.
Education Requirements:
- Registered Medical Doctor with postgraduate qualification(s) in Occupational Health, Safety Management System, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, and/ or Project Planning and Management.
- Qualification(s) in Assessment and Workplace Training, Monitoring and Evaluation and/ or Training of Trainers is an added advantage.
- Minimum of five years in working in mining industry.
- Demonstrated competence in Primary Health Care in a remote setting.
- Behavior Change Communication (BCC) experience is an added advantage
- Previous experience in designing and managing a staff capacity- building program
- Strong management, assessment, program implementation, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in monitoring and evaluation.
- Knowledge of, and experience in working with, and coordinating with national/ local partner organizations.
- Experience of management/supervisory responsibilities
- Demonstrated competency in Windows, MS office programs, email and database.
- A valid Tanzanian driving license
