Vacancy No. 2012-2: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR for Post-Harvest Systems, Value Addition and Market Access.
The Trust is recruiting an Assistant Director for Postharvest Systems; Value Addition and Market Access (PHS-VA-MA) to build and lead its Team responsible for mainstreaming postharvest handling, value addition processing and market access, to agriculture 4 development programmes of governments, development organizations, and the private sector in the EAC Region.
Reporting to the Director – Programmes, and based in Kampala, the Assistant Director will be working across all the EAC Member States + South Sudan. The main function of the PHS-VA-MA Team will be to: design, commission and implement robust interventions in postharvest handling, value addition processing and market access, for the programmes of the Trust, in relation to Making Markets (especially the EA Common Market) Work better for food commodities/products, and contribute fully to the reduction of poverty and elimination of hunger in the region.

Vacancy No. 2012-3: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR for Value Chain Support Services and Institutions
The role of the Assistant Director for Value Chain Support Services and Institutions (VC-SS&I), is to build and lead a Team responsible for Services and Institutions with respect to M4P and/or VCD Programmes in the EAC Region. Therefore, based in Kampala, the Assistant Director will be working across all the EAC Member States + South Sudan.
The main function of the Team will be to: design, commission and implement robust interventions for achieving necessary and sufficient Services, Institutions and Institutional Relations required in the Upgrading of Agricultural Value Chains - especially in relation to food commodities/products - in the context of the EA Common Market.

Vacancy No. 2012-4: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR for Database and Knowledge Management
The role of the Assistant Director for Database and Knowledge Management (DKM), is to build and lead a Team responsible for enhancing and managing the Knowledge Assets of the Trust.
S/he will also be the head of all editorial functions. Based in Kampala, the Assistant Director will be working across all the EAC Member States + South Sudan. The main function of the DKM Team will be to: design, commission, build and manage a robust, necessary, and sufficient Stock of Data and Knowledge to support the Trust in its (i) "thought leadership" programmes; and (ii) M4P programmes - especially in the context of the EA Common Market – and in relation to food commodities/products.

Vacancy No. 2012-5: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - Policy Analysis and Thought Leadership
The role of the Assistant Director for Policy Analysis and Thought Leadership (PATL), is to build and lead a Team responsible for the "Thought Leadership" and Advocacy for Policies and Strategies supportive of "regional thinking and actions" in the EAC with respect to food security, so as to "deliver the promise of the East Africa Common Market" with respect to reducing poverty and eliminating hunger.
Therefore, based in Kampala, the Assistant Director will be working across all the EAC Partner States + South Sudan – leading advocacy work with the EAC Secretariat, the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA); governments of the Partner States; as well as development partners focusing on EAC as a block.
