Responsibilities:
§ Providing leadership, supervision, and technical direction to the project’s field implementation team, including subcontractor teams, and additional short-term technical assistants/resources;
§ Coordinating and assuming the role of official spokesperson of project activities with donor, host country government and local counterparts, and other collaborating institutions and agencies;
§ Coordinating the preparation of work plans that define the activities to be carried out under the project, progress reports on project implementation and all other major project deliverables;
§ Ensuring that contractual obligations are met and that financial resources are properly accounted for;
Preparing or approving scopes of work and timetables for the design and implementation of program activities in conjunction with work plans and in accordance with Tetra Tech ARD policy and contractual obligations, including a smooth and timely mobilization and start-up of the technical assistance team;

§ Responsible for all project reporting to the donor, including regular status updates, intermittent progress reports, as well as quarterly/annual/semi-annual reports or other deliverables as stated in the contract;
§ Supervising project close out activities and seeing that equipment, local personnel, and project files are dealt with in accordance with donor and Tetra Tech ARD policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
§ Advanced degree with a focus on land-related issues required
§ Minimum of 15 years experience in providing technical assistance and implementing land-related justice management or rural programs related to governance, institutional strengthening, and reform activities
§ Minimum eight years of successful experience as a project director of large donor-funded technical assistance teams for projects of similar magnitude and complexity in developing countries
§ Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing land-related programs in sub-Saharan Africa
§ Demonstrated experience in conducting targeted land-related research in sub-Saharan Africa and trained in qualitative and quantitative research methods
§ Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
§ Fluency in English required; proficiency in French preferred
