the Plan: for you to work with and for children in the world’s poorest countries to help them build a better future. A future you would want for all children, your family and friends.
For over 70 years we’ve been taking action and standing up for every child’s right to fulfil their potential. We do what’s needed, where it’s needed most. We do what you would do.
Plan UK’s Programme Partnership Agreement (PPA) is funding “Building Skills for Life”, a flagship , multi-sectoral programme, focussed on empowering adolescent girls through work on education, sexual and reproductive health, economic security and protection from violence. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of projects across five countries, where activities will include: - coaching and supporting project staff at country level - monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with donor requirements - identifying the need for and coordinating technical support - supporting Country Offices in monitoring and evaluation, reporting and learning
Communication is a big part of this role, as you’ll need to facilitate contact between Plan UK and Country Office staff, make sure that the donor and PPA Coordinator are kept updated on project progress and share knowledge and learning with other Plan colleagues and partners.
If you’re eager for the challenge, you will need to have experience of managing and reporting on sizeable international development projects, and we’re particularly interested if you have experience of DfID-funded projects. We’re looking for someone who has supported project implementation through influencing and negotiation skills, rather than line management, and has experience of coaching or building capacity of field staff. You should also be able to review budgets and resolve financial issues, and have proven knowledge of current development thinking through a relevant qualification or experience. You also need to be able to speak at least basic French or Spanish.
This is a fixed-term role, starting ASAP and ending in December 2012.
Join us and help children, families and entire communities to move themselves from a life of poverty to a future with opportunity.
