The Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) District Coordinators will oversee the day-to-day planning and implementation of PMTCT activities within ICAP-supported facilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation.
S/he will supervise Nurse Counselors providing PMTCT services at the ICAP-supported facilities within the district and will report to the PMTCT Advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day technical support and supervision of the district PMTCT Program as per national guidelines
* Assist with training of health care workers using the national PMTCT curriculum
* Strengthen referrals and linkages between PMTCT activities and the Comprehensive Care Clinics
* Oversee Early Infant Diagnosis, care and follow-up of HIV-exposed infants
* Strengthen linkages between PMTCT, follow-up of HIV-exposed infants (HEI) and Comprehensive Care Clinics
* Assist in the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation for PMTCT and HEI
* Participate in district PMTCT meetings
Requirements:
* Registered Nurse or Registered Clinical Officer
* More than 3 years experience in the implementation of PMTCT activities
* Experience in training and mentorship of health care workers on PMTCT
