JOB SUMMARY
The Online Communications Officer’s primary responsibility is to contribute to the growth of EWS-WWF’s base of supporters and brand familiarity within the Middle East through managing the organizations’ online assets and promoting its programmes and activities on the web.
KEY COMPETANCIES
The successful candidate should demonstrate an ability to work in a highly collaborative and multi-cultural team environment and show a willingness to learn and grow. S/he should have a proven record in online content development and management, website administration through different content management system, social media management, online marketing campaigns and graphic design.
Fluency in Arabic and English is also a requirement for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the organization’s online presence by maintaining EWS-WWF websites, e-newsletters, blogs, social networks and intranet.
- Assist with development and implementation of EWS-WWF online communication strategy in collaboration with the communication team and project teams.
- Assist with development of online/digital marketing campaigns and activities for various projects, and lead execution plans in light of the overall communication strategy.
- Design appropriate marketing/communications material according to project needs and according to EWS-WWF brand guidelines
- Create and update web content in collaboration with the communications team members
- Assist with any online related project such as website creation, redesign and migration. This would include working with agencies, web designers and freelancers to design and develop mini-sites and featured pages, innovative graphics, sound, videos and games and improve the look and feel of existing assets.
- Work with vendors in SEO implementation and monitoring and constantly work towards improving site performance in terms of key metric & qualitative goals
- Assist in managing EWS-WWF social networks to engage and expand the existing network of supporters
- Create communications assets (online and offline) for EWS-WWF in line with the brand guidelines
- Support the communications team in its various function when necessary
- Keep up to date with current trends in mobile marketing, web industry standards, online fundraising, web 2.0, social media, internet marketing, and all electronic media
- Facilitate, feed and stimulate WWF Network discussions and collaboration towards knowledge sharing.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience.
- Strong experience in graphic design and ability to create and edit visuals using computer software (Such as illustrator, Indesign)
- Thorough knowledge of web site development process, architecture, and navigation protocols.
- Experience in web systems administration and CMS frameworks (Expression Engine, Drupal, and Wordpress experience preferred).
- Familiarity with a variety of software used in web page design and graphics production
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS and PHP
- Ability to compile, analyze and maintain website statistics and other technology metrics (Google Analytics experience preferred).
- Experience in social media and social networking management
- Knowledge of blast email strategies and online campaign implementation, as well as familiarity with online campaigning tools such as CampaignMonitor, MailChimp and Communicator Corp
- Deep knowledge of online trends and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to plan own work and manage priorities and deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A strong interest in nature conservation and sustainable development issues
- Personable and an excellent communicator
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Creative and design skills
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Strong writing skills.
- Teamwork and experience building consensus and work effectively within a team
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have :
- A good educational background, ideally with a Degree in Marketing, Communications and/or Internet Technology
- At least 2 years relevant work experience

This is a full-time permanent position based within the EWS-WWF office in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
