Use your specialist communication skills to support humanitarian responses within the Asia Pacific region and be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of children living in poverty. The World Vision Partnership is a global network of people committed to enhance the well-being of children everywhere by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice.
The HEA Communications Specialist will provide strategic communications leadership and capacity building support to the region in the arena of disaster management. You will contribute to enhancing organisational capacity to effectively and proactively position WV as a leading disaster response, development and advocacy agency in the region and develop communications capacity of regional disaster management team (RDMT) members in the AP region. With a proven track record in a fast paced, complex and ideally global organisation, you will have a desire, to help others and model ethics in line with the foundations and ethos of the organisation.
SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or Marketing and/or at least 5 years professional experience in communications or media in AP.
• Excellent oral and written (English) communications skills.
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively in AP and may need to work with other virtual teams of different time zones.
• Experience in leading/managing communications response in humanitarian emergencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Contribute to development and implementation of HEA communications strategy, priorities and business plan.
• Contribute to the capacity development of World Vision’s responsiveness to disasters
• Work with other key Communications staff to lead communications when large scale disasters affect the Asia Pacific region
• Support the internal needs of the Asia Pacific HEA team regarding information and resource sharing
