QUALIFICATIONS: Outstanding leadership skills and technical expertise related to improving student and teacher performance, excellent analytical skills and aptitude for details, capacity to work in difficult conditions and function well under pressure and extensive international experience and experience in a developing country required, with a strong preference for East Africa. Masters degree in education, linguistics, or related field required, PhD preferred. Experience managing USAID-funded project preferred with a proven track record managing diverse teams of international and local staff, stakeholders, and partners. Recent experience designing, managing or evaluating early-grade reading programs preferred. Strong oral and written English language skills.
