IFDC- a public international organization addressing critical issues such as international food security, the alleviation of poverty, environmental protection and the promotion of economic development and self-sufficiency.
In 2009, IFDC has obtained from the Netherland Embassy three year grant "Sustainable Energy through Woodlots and Agroforestry- SEW". As a part of this grant program, IFDC will provide capacity building facilities and financial support through small grants approach to the firewood and charcoal value chains beneficiaries in innovative proposals which will contribute to the firewood and charcoal value chains development in Rwanda. In this context IFDC is seeking dynamic persons to fill the consultancy positions of:
Firewood and charcoal value chain facilitators (3 positions)
- Suggest a viable structure of firewood and charcoal value chain actors in a given location based in the selected potential value chains to allow the actors to build sustainable linkages, synergies and relationship between them which will help to organize their work;
- Provider appropriate technical support and advises of the firewood and charcoal value chain stakeholders in terms of organizations and institutional structures to guide their actions.
- Contribute in explanation campaign of the designed structures to the authorities and other partners.
Post and duration
The firewood and charcoal value chain facilitators will be based respectively in the following location with several travels to Kigali:
- Northern province in Musanze District
- Western province in Rubavu District
- Southern province in Huye District
The duration of this consultancy of firewood and charcoal value chain facilitation is three months. Detailed specifications will be provided in the contracts.
