IFDC- a public international organization addressing critical issues such as international food security, the alleviation of poverty, environmental protection and the promotion of economic development and self-sufficiency. In 2009, IFDC has obtained from the Netherland Embassy three year grant "Sustainable Energy through Woodlots and Agroforestry- SEW". As a part of this grant program, IFDC will provide capacity building facilities and financial support through small grants approach to the firewood and charcoal value chains beneficiaries in innovative proposals which will contribute to the firewood and charcoal value chains development in Rwanda. In this context IFDC is seeking dynamic persons to fill the consultancy positions of:
Small grants Analyst (One position)
Duties and Responsibilities
Interested candidates should provide information indicating that they are qualified and experienced to perform the assignments listed below:
- Provide his expertise in financial analysis of firewood and charcoal value chain proposals for small grants to be considered for final approval;
- Analyze the firewood and charcaol beneficiaries' business plans in relation with the targeted objectives;
- Insure the technical support and provide advises to the selected firewood and charcoal value chain actors during approved proposal implementation for better utilization of small grants and promote their initiatives;
- The selected consultant will be a member of the small grant committee as an outsider person and will provide his financial expertise in decision making and approval of proposals.
Job requirements
- Relevant qualification with an AO level in the areas with focus on proposal development, finance analysis and income generating activities or their equivalent;
- Knowledge of business principles and experience of small grants approach;
- Knowledge and experience of value chain approach and business management would be an added value;
- Fluency in English, French and Kinyarwanda with superior oral communications skills to effectively present information and respond to questions;
- Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications- spreadsheets, word processing and data base management, PowerPoint presentation;
- Ability to work under pressure and little supervision.
Post and duration
This consultancy position will be based in Kigali with several field travels. The duration of this consultancy is two months.
