Purpose of the Position
The Systems Analyst, Enterprise systems integration and Cloud Services, is a senior architect responsible for leading the design and architectural efforts focused on the adoption and integration of UNICEF Enterprise systems and Cloud-based services.
Based on business requirements, user needs and regulatory compliance, he/she leads the selection and introduction of Enterprise Systems, Enterprise Infrastructure and cloud services. He/She works in tight collaboration with the section’s Senior Architects. His/her main partners are representatives of UNICEF business sections as well as representatives of the other ITSS sections.
Key Expected Results
- Analyze UNICEF business requirements, regulatory compliance requirements, user needs and critical deficiencies in UNICEF current technology environment. Strategize, architect, design and oversee the integration of new and existing systems throughout UNICEF.
- Analyze technical, legal and commercial value of using cloud services to extend new and existing system lifespan and functionalities.
- Analyzes technology trends in the market and tendencies in the UN system to determine their potential impact on UNICEF technical architecture, with a particular focus on system integration and cloud services.
- Architect services and integration components and oversee their implementation. Delivers control interfaces to the IT Operations section and assist them in the release process.
- Produce analysis and design documentation, Architecture Statements and other project artifacts, as required by ITSS PMO methodology.
- Oversee the establishment of standards in the area of system integration and cloud services
- Presents trends in his/her area of expertise, work deliverables to technical and non-technical audiences. Participate in relevant UNICEF social media.
- Transfer knowledge outside NYHQ. Foster centers of competencies outside NYHQ in the area of system integration and cloud services.
- Promote the use of Open Source software and services where appropriate.
- Oversees consultant activities
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Advanced university degree or equivalent background, in computer science, information systems, or other relevant disciplines, with specialized training or appropriate experience in the fields broadly applicable to the job
Minimum of eight years of relevant hands-on work experience in system analysis, design, architecture development and implementation, of which at least 3 years of previous experience in designing and integrating systems & applying design patterns along with development of web services. Previous work experience in a developing country is highly desirable.
Previous experience of working with cross-functional projects is highly desirable. Previous hands-on experience with Cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS is considered desirable. Previous experience with Amazon and Azure is considered an asset
Fluency in English. Working knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) desirable.
