PLAN INTERNATIONAL KENYA SPONSORSHIP MANAGER


Plan International Inc. Kenya is seeking to recruit for the position of Sponsorship Manager based at the Kenya Country Office. The purpose of this role is to manage the Child Sponsorship function in the country as per Plan International, corporate requirements, so as to ensure continuous Sponsorship funding. The post holder promotes building of relations between the donors and Country communities through matching of the Sponsorship funding to the goal and objectives of the Country Strategic Plan.
The post holder will report to the Deputy Country Director of Plan International Kenya. She/he directly supervises the Sponsorship Administrator, at the country office and indirectly the Seven Sponsorship coordinators, at the Program units.The incumbent also budgets for Sponsorship related trainings and networks for staff and community volunteers.
Key responsibilities
• Participate as Country Management Team member on strategic and operational matters of the organisation;
• Facilitate the process of creating and maintaining good relations with the different partners for sponsorship at different levels at the international office and National Offices levels;
• Ensure that all sponsorship growth, systems and processes are managed as per the requirements and standards;
• Familiarize with the all sponsorship related issues and policies as per the global and country standards;
• Participate in the facilitation of all processes of creating and maintaining good relations with the different partners for sponsorship at different levels;
• Participate in the roll-out of the Sponsorship systems and innovations in Kenya in order to ensure ownership by the communities, children participation and integration of sponsorship and programs;
• Work with the respective managers and team members to facilitate capacity enhancement of Plan staff to provide for capacity enhancement of children and their communities to own and manage sponsorship processes;
• Provide leadership to ensure learning while ensuring that there is linkage and synergy between sponsorship and development programming;
• Mentor and coach colleagues at the country office and Program Unit levels to facilitate competency in sponsorship roles and related activities.
Qualifications, experience and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, or other related discipline.
• A Masters degree preferable, in development or management.
• 3-5 years’ experience in administration or an NGO setup
• Strong development programming experience;
• Strong analytical and project management skills;
• Experience in networking and partnership development;
• Strong team building and coaching skills;
• Strong negotiation, facilitating and influencing skills;
• Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications
• A good understanding of donor programs, priorities and policies;
• Understanding and experience in community development and human rights based programming.
