Intermon Oxfam Country Manager to Ethiopia, based in Addis Ababa


Intermon Oxfam is looking to fill the position of Country Manager to Ethiopia, based in Addis Ababa. The CD will report to the Intermon Oxfam Regional Director and to Oxfam International Country Director.
Key Responsibilities
-To lead, provide and contribute to the building of a national strategic vision to define institutional stances, identify the key processes and players in social transformation and define the differential contribution of IO. -To design and implement the strategic country plan aimed at generating changes in policies, practical ideas and beliefs in accordance with the priorities. -To manage the execution of the strategic planning to ensure that the activity is aimed at the mission and vision, responds to the national scenario and is aimed at achieving maximum impact, quality and efficiency. -To ensure correct assessment of impact and reporting. -To manage Fundraising actions to ensure the availability of resources for program implementation. -To coordinate, manage and develop human resources in the office to ensure correct follow-up, development and management of personnel in the office and team-building in the country. -To guarantee compliance with the legal regulations in force in the country and application of the institution’s HR policies. -To ensure office complies with IO security policy. -To represent IO both at Oxfam Ethiopia level and other key players, bodies and national media.
Experience and Skills
-Five year' experience at a high responsibility post in a development or humanitarian organization (National or international NGO, or other civil society organization) preferably in Ethiopia. -Person with thorough knowledge of the country. -Experience working with Oxfam International will be valued. -University degree. -Experience and knowledge of formulation, assessment and evaluation of cooperation projects and programmes in rural contexts. -Experience in staff management and development. -Experience in financial planning and budget control. -Capacity for critical analysis of the reality and strategic vision, preferably for Ethiopia. -Proficiency in written and spoken English; Amharic will be an advantage. -Computer skills (Office, Internet, e_mail). -Driving licence and availability to travel. -Identification and commitment to our values and mission.
Working Conditions
Contract of employment: 1 year contract, provided by Intermón Oxfam. Salary: According to the Intermón Oxfam salary scale. Working hours: 40h a week. Working hours depend upon the functions to be conducted. Availability of dedicating some weekends (working day recoverable) Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution
