RTI is seeking an environmental engineer or hydrologist with demonstrated skills in the development and application of hydrologic models, particularly as they pertain to integrated watershed resources management. Prior experience using such tools as ESRI ArcView, Arc-Hydro, GWLF, HSPF, SWMM, and related technologies is essential. The position requires proven ability to apply hydrologic analysis and modeling techniques to a broad range of emerging water resources problems including development of ecological flow regimes, calculation of reservoir storage-yield-reliability curves, quantification of the impact of extreme climate events on stream flows, and characterization of interactions between groundwater and surface water. Candidates should have prior experience working with the enhanced National Hydrography Dataset (NHDPlus) or similar hydrologic networks. General knowledge of key factors affecting water demand for irrigation and/or power production is desirable.
The position may require extensive international travel, particularly to Latin America and the middle-east. Prior experience working with international development banks is highly desirable. Candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with international research institutes, academic institutions, and global non-governmental organizations (NGOs). | ||
