CPJ Program Administrator
The Committee to Protect Journalists, an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the defense of press freedom around the world, seeks a qualified professional to oversee the administration and coordination of its program work.
The successful candidate will have strong administration and management skills and a clear commitment to the organization's mission of defending journalists and a free press. This is a full-time staff position at CPJ headquarters in New York.
Primary responsibilities:
- Administration of five regional and two sector programs
- Management of program monitoring and evaluation
- Assistance with program planning and missions
- Coordination of program work among all departments
- Cooperation with the Development Department on reports and grant proposals
- Tracking of program budgets
Skills:
- Proven organizational and planning ability
- Strong written and oral communication ability and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt plans quickly to changing circumstances
- Ability to work effectively with staff remotely across geographies and cultures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
- A background in journalism or human rights work, foreign language skills and international experience are beneficial.
