dedicated to supporting the provision of high-quality, comprehensive HI V/AIDS care and treatment to HIV — exposed and infected children and adolescents in the Lake and Southern Highlands Zones of Tanzania through service delivery, training and research. Baylor Tanzania is pail of the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS initiative (BIPAI) clinical centers of Excellence Network which is headquartered at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA
Through collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Weflare (MOHSW), Baylor — Tanzania Is lookıng for highly motivated, well-qualified individual to join its growing program team in the following vacant positions:
Pedietrician (2 positions)
Location: Mwanza
Position summary: To provide clinical supervision to clinical staff in the provision of comprehensive
family-centered pediatric I-NV/AIDS care and treatment to patients in the Zonal Referral Hospital, COE and outreach facilities.
Support education of medical trainees in general and HIV/AIDS specific pediatric medicine facilitating clinical
rotations and attachments at the COEs, by attending on pediatric wards, attending morning report, umal club and other educational activities .
Duties and ResponsibIlitIes
‘ Attending to patients in the pediatric wards of the Zonai Referral Hospital, the Baylor-Tanzania Center of
Excellence and in outreach facilities
‘ Providing education to medical trainees regarding pediatric and general HIVIAIDS care
. Providing technical assistance to heats care providers in pediatric and general HIV/AIDS prevention,
diagnosis, care, treatment and complications both within the COE as well as In outside facilities.
. Actively participate in CME activities and other meetings in all clinical and educational settings.
‘ Provide leadership to junior doctors and nurses in different focal activities as assigned.
. Participate actively in proposal writing and scientific publications
• Other specific tasks as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills
. Masters of Medicine in Pediatrics or the equivalent from a recognized and accredited medical school
. Registered by the Tanganyika Medical Council as a Medical Doctor with at least two years of working
experience
• Excellence in general pediatric medical care
. Familiarity with general HIV care and treatment
‘ Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet computer programs
. Knowledge of computer skills is an added advantage
. Team player
