SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW, INSTITUTE FOR DEVELOPMENT STUDIES -AC/4/180/12/-(R&T)
CATEGORY I- 1 POST
Applicants should be holders of a PhD degree from a recognized university specializing in Transport Research and Teaching with a minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals and/or chapters in books. They should have a minimum of 4 publications in refereed journals or two (2) publications and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since last promotion.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate students in their areas of specialization in Development Studies, and to initiate and conduct research in their areas of specialization.
CATEGORY II- 1 POST
Applicants should be holders of a PhD degree in Social Science in any of the following areas: Development Studies; History; International Studies/Relations, or Political Science from a recognized university. They must have at least five (5) years’ teaching experience at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. They must have supervised at least three (3) post-graduate students to completion. They must have experience in research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals; and must have at least four (4) publications in refereed journals or two (2) publications and two (2) chapters in scholarly books since the last promotion.
The successful candidate will be required to teach post-graduate levels in addition to carrying out relevant research in their areas of specialization. Priority will be given to applicants knowledgeable in the areas of national and regional development processes, with ability to teach a combination of any of the following: Development Theory; Peace, Security and Sustainable Development; Gender, Leadership and Society; Governance and Development in Africa.

Applicant should be holders of a PhD degree from a recognized university in at least one of the social science disciplines:- Urban Development, Urban Transport, Urban Housing, Urban Economy, Urban Politics and Governance, or Urban Social Relations.
They must show evidence of continuing research activity. The candidates must demonstrate ability to initiate and manage research as part of a team in their areas of specialization. They should have proven competence in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach postgraduate level students in Social Science/Development Research Methods and at least three additional courses such as: Trade and Development; Industry and Development; Issues in Urban Development; Rural-Urban Linkages; Migration and Urbanization; Development Management.

Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Human Nutrition or Dietetics from a recognized university. They should have done Food Science and technology or Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent at BSC or MSC or both levels. They should have research experience, with at least two

LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL MICROBIOLOGY- AC/4/185/12 – 2 POSTS- (CHS)
Applicants must be holders of a Basic qualification (MBChB or its equivalent) with a Master of Science in Medical Microbiology or a PhD degree. They should indicate their specialization/ preference in Parasitology and Virology from a recognized university. They should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books since last promotion. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. Those with at least two (2) years previous experience at university level will have an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate students supervise dissertations and research and participate in routine diagnostic work at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT GRADE EF, OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY VICE- CHANCELLOR (RESEARCH PRODUCTION & EXTENSION) - 1 POST
– AD/4/186/12- (R&T)
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor’s (at least lower 2nd class Hons.) degree in Information Technology or its equivnant from a recognized university and CPS II or relevant professional or postgraduate qualification in management . They should also have at least three (3) years experience as Administrative Assistant Grade CD or equivalent position. They must be Computer literate. Those with skills in Database Management, Statistical Analysis , Web Management , monitoring and evaluation will have an added advantage.

Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor’s (at least lower 2 nd class Hons.) degree from a recognized university and CPS II or relevant professional or postgraduate qualification in management . They should also have at least three (3) years experience as Administrative Assistant Grade CD or equivalent position. They must be Computer literate.
