EABL operates within a multi cultural, multinational, multi currency environment. EABL comprises several business units including KBL, EAML, CGI, UBL and SBL.
The incumbent besides leading the team will work closely with in market Heads of Procurement, and Category Excellence Teams to provide the support services, necessary for delivery of procurement services in the entire EABL Group. The holder will also work closely with EABL Supply Finance team in reporting, financial analysis and budgeting to drive desired business performance especially on savings to plan, overhead optimisation, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) projects, and business insights.
Market Complexity:
• Support across EABL markets, driving ownership of key business initiatives which are not necessarily day to day work of the procurement staff e.g. supplier financing, and other cash initiatives like consignment stocking.
• There is increased focus on the group’s compliance with Control Audit & Risk Management (CARM) standards and the Diageo Policies. Hence the incumbent needs to understand the control aspects of such compliance requirements, embed the culture within Procurement and sustain the momentum in developing the risk and governance agenda in line with changing business needs.
Leadership Responsibilities:
The role involves direct leadership of a team of 4 members of staff and involves leadership and support to in market procurement teams in terms of business performance reporting, audit support, legal, purchase to pay processes, supplier financing and cash initiatives, project tracking and management, tender administrator, controls and process improvements, and learning and development for all staff in Procurement in the Group .
TOP 3-5 Accountabilities
Business Performance Reporting
• Drive consolidation of monthly BPM packs for each market and EABL Group
• Analyse and follow through performance insights (e.g. savings to plan, corrective actions, focus areas) on monthly basis to plan
• Lead procurement planning cycle
• Risk & Governance Reporting
Purchase to Pay & Procurement Process Improvement
• Manage supplier payment issues resolutions
• Search and implement PtP process improvement to drive effective and efficient supplier service delivery
• Tender Administration – follow through all stages of sourcing to ensure closure and accurate documentation leading to sourcing decisions made;
• Manage supplier financing throughout the EABL Group
• Keep accurate records of supplier accounts on boarded to SF and train/coordinate with all EABL markets to deliver SF solutions
• Manage open POs, dormant supplier accounts, preferred supplier lists, one-time vendor account, single sourcing approvals, monitor validity of BCP and SFRMs for the Group
Audit Support, ensuring that the Global Audit and Risk Function (Diageo’s Internal Audit Department) engage the Procurement team effectively and in a structured manner to optimize testing and rating. Governance – Corporate Citizenship With Suppliers (CCS) - Driving the CCS Agenda through the Supplier SEDEX Platform to ensure widespread Ethical Trading Practices by EABL High Risk Suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Qualifications
• University degree in Commerce, Business Administration or its equivalent.
• Recognized professional qualification in accountancy CPA (K), CA, ACCA or its equivalent
• MBA is an added advantage
Experience
• 6-10 years experience in a professional audit firm or a Procurement function in a large manufacturing organization/FMCG.
