Senior Advisor: The Senior Technical Advisor shall provide technical support to the team from the home office. He/she shall provide expertise in developing assessment methodology and/or strategy that will be best suitable for subject projects. S/he shall be able to provide expert advice, guidance and support to the team in planning and implementing evaluation and provide expertise and support in preparing final evaluation reports. He/she will be responsible for producing a final benchmark/Evaluation report for the FaBS project and will be the primary point of contact for USAID regarding this evaluation. The senior advisor should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the areas of economic or business development in a developing country environment, preferably in Africa, and a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or related fields.
The senior advisor should also have at least 8 years of experience in managing or participating in monitoring and evaluating projects in developing countries, preferably with at least 1 year of experience in Ethiopia. S/he must have excellent English writing skills. Relevant senior level experience may also be substituted for an advanced degree. Prior experience with donor agencies in Ethiopia is recommended.
Financial Analyst: The financial analyst shall be experienced in the field of finance, economic
development and/or accounting. Experience in working with central bank authorities and/or commercial banks in a marketing, risk management and/or back-office support function is desirable. Prior experience working in Africa and/or Ethiopia is desirable. The financial analyst shall be able to provide expertise and judgment clearly and concisely, written and orally. The financial analyst should have at least 7 years of experience as a financial sector development expert, a private finance expert and at least a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related fields.
Private Sector Advisor: The Private Sector Advisor shall be experienced in the field of the development of sustainability of the SME sector and capacity building of business associations, credit facility programs (Development Credit Authority-DCA), human capacity building, small-grant programs, and be able to provide expertise and judgment clearly and concisely, written and orally. Experience in designing/implementing BDS/private sector related projects would be an advantage. The Private Sector Advisor shall have at least 7 years of experience in private sector development, including experience in supporting chamber and/or business associations and at least a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related fields.
