The MRC Clinical Trials Unit (MRC CTU) is seeking a highly motivated and pro-active individual with considerable experience in trial management and excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills to join the team of Clinical Project Managers.
The MRC CTU undertakes the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of large-scale, multi-centre studies, to assess the value of medical interventions in a variety of clinical areas including cancer, HIV and tuberculosis. The majority of our clinical trials are international, and many of those in HIV and tuberculosis studies are in resource-poor settings, mainly in Africa.
The current vacancy is for one year in the first instance, to cover the maternity leave of the Clinical Project Manager for the HIV Prevention programme. The HIV Prevention programme encompasses clinical trials from Phase I through to III, including early phase vaccine trials. One of these is a challenging new trial with sites in Tanzania and Mozambique, and the post-holder will be required to travel to those two countries.
