This is an exciting opportunity to work with the only international organisation in Ethiopia working to support older people, building the capacity of national organisations to take on this work as the number of older people in the country, and the complexity of their needs, increases.
The Senior Development Programme Manager will coordinate and lead the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the development programme of HelpAge International in Ethiopia, guide and build the capacity of HelpAge staff and partners in the design and implementation of development projects and play a leading role in promoting and representing the HelpAge development programme and principles to key internal and external audiences
The ideal candidate will have substantial international experience with an INGO or UN agency, with extensive experience in managing development projects/programmes for major donors as well as experience in developing proposals and budgets. You will also have an understanding in working in fragile states and the ability to develop innovative approaches and strategies. Excellent communication skills in English are also essential for this role. Experience of building partnerships and a good understanding and analysis of the intergenerational nature of poverty and development are highly desirable.
