Project Coordinator – HIV prevention project
The Medical Research Council/ Uganda Virus Research Institute (MRC/UVRI) Uganda Research Unit on AIDS based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe invites applications from suitably qualified Ugandans for the post of Project Coordinator. The MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is a bilateral multi-disciplinary research organisation funded by the Medical Research Council (UK), DFID (UK) and other donor organisations.
We are seeking an experienced coordinator for a new project ‘ Improving the effectiveness of HIV prevention in Uganda: enhancing comprehensive HIV prevention services amongst female sex workers and their male partners’
Duties and responsibilities: The post will be based in Kampala at the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS office/clinic there. The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership of the project team responsible for managing a range of different activities, including developing prevention materials, liaising with local stakeholders, managing staff and activities, representing the project at high level meetings and reporting to the project funder.
Requirement:
Qualifications and experience: The successful candidate should have at least 5 years experience in research or community development coordination, preferably in the field of public health with progressively responsible experience in research, health programs and or community development and management is required. Tasks may include protocol development and data management. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot unexpected problems that may arise during the conduct of the project is important. The post-holder requires expertise in data management for monitoring including data collection, analysis, and writing of reports.
